Ten-year-old Palestinian girl Sarah Al-Bursh has defied all odds and learned to eat, drink, and write using her feet after losing both arms in an Israeli airstrike that targeted her home in northern Gaza. With the care of her loving mother, she was able to slowly regain a sense of independence, adapting to a life she was forced into by Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza. Sarah is one of thousands of amputated children in the Gaza Strip, most of whom are left without access to any treatment as Israel continues to block the entry of more field hospitals, medical delegations, and lifesaving supplies.
