The First Amendment protects every word of @AOC’s “Know Your Rights with ICE” webinar. The presenters inform viewers about their rights and give general information about how ICE enforces immigration laws. Everyone on US soil — whether here legally or not — has constitutional rights, such as protection against unreasonable searches and seizures. President Trump’s border czar had no legitimate grounds for requesting a DOJ investigation. Any suggestion that the webinar aids and abets illegal activity or obstructs law enforcement is baseless. It’s as absurd as claiming a police officer aids and abets a suspect by reading him the Miranda warning. This intimidation tactic is likely to discourage others from simply educating people about their fundamental rights.
