In Nashville I met with Tennessee’s Commissioner of Tourist Development @TNVacation, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce @nashchamber and the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation @visitmusiccity to find out how Alberta can follow in their footsteps to create “Nashville North”. Canadians have long been the largest group of international visitors to this city but the tariff fight is having an impact. Fewer visitors, fewer flights, fewer dollars moving in either direction. That’s why the US tourism industry has been one of the greatest advocates for resolving the dispute. My message to all Americans is the same wherever I go. Our two nations must get back to the table and negotiate in good faith. Every week without a deal costs workers and businesses in both our countries. My sincere thanks to Alberta’s Senior Representative to the United States, Nathan Cooper, for continuing to build these relationships south of the border and advocated for Alberta’s interests.
