I’m not a Netanyahu defender. I think he failed his people on 10/7 and has done a rather poor job since. Especially in how he has managed the information war and how he has allowed those who don’t prioritize Israel’s interests to dictate war strategy. But.. Netanyahu did not fund Hamas. He did allow/promote Qatar to fund Hamas as an intentional policy to try to stabilize Gaza and create an alternative to the PA. That policy was clearly a mistake and a costly one. It’s also one that was foolishly supported by most of the international community. Netanyahu wasn’t alone in sitting by and doing nothing as Hamas spent 2 decades preparing for war and building a military infrastructure that used civilians as cover in Gaza. It’s hard to take people who don’t have an issue w Qatar funding Hamas or protecting their leadership seriously in their complaints re Netanyahu supporting that funding. There is a lot of blame to go around for bringing us here. https://bird.makeup/@szunetux/1788378761332719618
