At the end of the day, you have to apply some common sense. Do I believe Trump made comments about Hitler being a strong leader or having loyal generals? Yes, because it sounds like him. He praises the ability of dictators to exert control all the time. Do I believe the lines about 60K to "bury a f*cking Mexican"? No, because it sounds more like resistance fan-fiction than anything Trump would say. Though these stories just don't have an impact anymore because extent to which people believe them is mostly based on who they support and mixing of real and questionable anecdotes makes them easy to ignore.
