This week’s attacks in Amsterdam were only a few days from the anniversary of Kristallnacht and what Mehdi/others are doing here is exactly what the Nazis did at the time as a justification for the pogroms: “some Jews did something bad so you can’t blame people for engaging in violence against Jews” At the time, a Jewish teen assassinated a Nazi official Ernst vom Rath in Paris after his family was expelled from Germany for being Jewish. The Nazis said that it was understandable that Hitler youth would react by attacking Jewish homes and businesses. And then they ended up passing laws targeting Jews immediately after. These people will always find a way to excuse violence targeting Jews. That’s why it’s important to recognize them for what they are. Not to become like them because no decent or civilized person should justify random mob violence targeting a religious/ethnic/or national group (any group), but to see the individuals who would for what they are and reject them.

I don’t ever want to hear anyone defending this evil terrorist-supporting antisemite again. This is a lie meant to justify a pogrom targeting Jews. This is exactly who he is and who he has always been. Think about what these lowlifes are doing: There was a group among the soccer fans that at some point chanted something offensive (not what he is claiming here) and earlier in the week tore down a Palestinian flag. In response, roving mobs of Arab migrants gathered with weapons and started attacking random people in the street they perceived to be Jewish or Israeli. They literally were checking passports and beating random people. Again, this is important to understand. It would be wrong to attack the people who chanted something racist, but that’s not what these 21st century Nazis did. They attacked random people they thought were Jewish. So what does Mehdi do? He suggests it was justified. Every single weekend there is an antisemitic anti-Israel mob that chants racist and offensive things in NYC. That often engages in criminal activity. Imagine if someone suggested we gather up a mob with weapons and used that to justify attacks random Muslims or Arabs in New York near the same area. Imagine the reaction if that happened. You think Mehdi would be defending the racist violent mob committing a pogrom based on the chants of that mob? Consider that next time there is a multi-day tantrum on CNN because someone made a joke insinuating this guy supports terrorism. If CNN actually had standards, they would have never had him on.
