The only other thing I will say is that Gaetz has personal feuds with several R Senators (including Rick Scott who many Trump fans were pushing for majority leader) so many of them will be so focused on blocking that pick that it may provide cover for the others.

Trump had a series of very strong cabinet picks that reflected experience and ability. Most of his picks are supporters, but also clearly capable of doing the job. While a unique pick, even the complaints about Hegseth for defense were unwarranted given his military experience. However, Tulsi Gabbard for DNI and Matt Gaetz for AG are both horrendous choices that reflect elevating political loyalty over competence and expertise. Neither of those individuals belong anywhere near those positions and I think their confirmations will be a challenge, even with a strong Republican majority.
