Hamas released hostage Hisham al-Sayed today without a ceremony or a celebration. al-Sayed, who was diagnosed with Schizophrenia, has been held in Gaza since he wandered into the area by mistake in 2015. They admitted the lack of ceremony was out of "respect" for the fact that he is a Muslim Arab, which is an admission these ceremonies are meant to humiliate Jewish hostages. That part of his background may have saved him from the ceremony but wasn't enough to prevent them from holding him hostage for a decade.
