Seeing all of antisemitic zealots go after Yuval Abraham is an important reminder that people who prioritize hate don’t care how much you try to appease them. They will use and discard you as soon as it’s convenient. In the 1920’s and early 1930’s, Max Naumann, the leader of the Association of German National Jews, spent extensive time publicly defending and advocating for the Nazis and Hitler. Naumann emphasized that him and his group were Germans first and that the concerns over antisemitism were overblown. None of that stopped the Nazis from disbanding his group in 1935 and then sending him to a concentration camp (although he was released). It didn’t stop the Nazis from murdering the families of many of the members of the group. Many of the victims targeted on 10/7 were peace activists who spent much of their time advocating for Palestinians and criticized the Israeli government. None of that saved them from Hamas. It’s a lesson some people would really benefit from.
