That’s part of the story here. Schools like Columbia have been recruiting awful people who add zero value and contribute nothing substantive while rejecting far more deserving candidates. Do you know how many talented foreign students would like to come here? And how many American kids got rejected despite similar academic achievements because they didn’t check that extra box? All subsidized by taxpayers.
