That’s because you’re clueless. Columbia’s trustees know that pro-terror mobs are bad for their school and are destroying the institution. They’ve had a noticeable drop in applications from Jewish and Black students. They’ve lost significant prestige. Employers are less likely to recruit there. Many alumni, and not just Trump supporters, have stopped donating. The cuts from the Trump admin are just the start as they face significant legal risks from Title VI investigations. Hundreds of thousands in property damage, large security bills, constant rule violations, and general undermining of actual academics. The whole place was turning into a left-wing activist camp instead of a school. Their appeasement has led to the situation getting consistently worse. Their Trump admin push is just what gave them the will to try to save the institution.

I confess I don't get Columbia folding. Don't they have an endowment worth many billions? Very rich alumni? Alumni who hate Trump? They could do a massive "resistance" fundraiser to make up for lost federal dollars. Very odd and very weak.
