Hamas chose to start this war and now they are choosing for it to continue. Just today senior Hamas adviser Taher Al-Nuno declared that disarming was a “red line” and “not up for negotiation” The only path forward is to force Hamas into disarming. If they won’t agree to it, then the best option is to force them into it by removing their hostages and human shields. Allow Palestinian civilians to leave Gaza.

This is the main disconnect that is preventing the end of the war. Hamas wants to regroup and re-arm to start another war down the line and keep attacking. Israel can't accept that because it would undermine the entire purpose of the last 18 months.
