It’s really amazing to watch what is happening so let’s be upfront about it. There is a fight within the Trump admin about the type of foreign policy they should pursue in the Middle East. It’s between the crowd that prefers a general appeasement approach towards Tehran and one that prefers a more aggressive “peace through strength” foreign policy. The former crowd first tried to stuff the Pentagon with “Restrainers” tied to Defense Priorities. But several of those people got caught leaking because they were upset they don’t get to dictate things. Now they have their sight set on going after cabinet members with alternative views. They are using both influencers and dishonest/false leaks to tradiitonal media to launch full smear campaigns. Waltz was obviously one of the main targets. The reason they have to do all of this is because Trump is not immediately on their side so really it’s all an effort to sway him. None of this is organic. Not the Washington Post leaks, influencer posts, none of it. And no one wants to be honest about it.
