This is a lot like moving the embassy to Jerusalem. A lot of people spent years making promises but reluctant to pull the trigger. It was the official US policy, but it took Trump to say yes. US policy for years has been that The Islamic Republic can’t have nukes. It took Trump to say yes to do something about it. That’s why Israel, despite doing most of the work, is happy to let him have the credit of ridding the world of the threat of a nuclear Islamic Republic.
