People need to be aware that this animal actually exists. It’s called a viscacha. They live in South America mainly in the Andes mountains and grasslands of Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, and Peru. There are two types: mountain viscachas (rocky cliffs) and plains viscachas (underground burrows). They’re rodents, closely related to chinchillas, even though they look like a rabbit-squirrel mix.
