The latest tide of escalation in state-backed, recurrent settler violence in the occupied West Bank is the direct, painfully inevitable outcome of Israel’s policies of annexation, ethnic cleansing and apartheid. It also lays bare the failure of the international community to take any meaningful measures against Israel’s unlawful occupation of the Palestinian territory beyond imposing sanctions on individual violent settlers. Protect Palestinian civilians, end Israel’s ethnic cleansing and occupation.
