Across 9th and 10th November 1938, the horrors of Kristallnacht – ‘The Night of Broken Glass’ – unfolded in Nazi Germany and Austria. In a coordinated, state-led attack, Jewish homes, businesses, schools, and synagogues were shattered, looted, and burned in a violent pogrom. This marked a terrifying escalation in the Nazi regime’s persecution of Jewish people, signalling the start of an even darker chapter to come. Over 30,000 Jewish men were arrested and sent to concentration camps, lives were lost, and entire communities were devastated. Today, we honour and remember the victims.
