A Holocaust survivor has spoken out against Kneecap. Henry Schachter BEM – whose parents were murdered in the Holocaust and who only survived thanks to the courage of a Christian family who hid him – has written to @Glastonbury. He says: “The band Kneecap scheduled to play at Glastonbury Festival this year are currently under investigation by the British counter-terrorism police. It is highly inappropriate for Glastonbury festival to allow such an entity to perform at the UK’s largest music festival. If the performance goes ahead, that would be a disgrace.” We are now at the point where a Holocaust survivor feels compelled to plead with festival organisers not to host a band whose member appeared to shout “Up Hamas, up Hizballah,” on stage. And yet, Glastonbury remains silent. That silence is shameful.
