“Met Police can go to hell.” Palestine Action and its supporters have sent a clear message: they have nothing but contempt for @MetPoliceUK frontline officers. When a group of extremists takes to the streets to defend a soon-to-be proscribed terrorist group and protest against those who risk their lives to keep our streets safe, it is a frighteningly clear indication that something has gone very wrong in this country. The authorities have a lot to answer for. This ban on Palestine Action — as called for by CAA and others — is a good start, but it should have happened a long time ago, as should bans on these kinds of protests. This must be the start of a clampdown on lawlessness and extremism if it is to be of any consequence.
