Let's nip this in the bud: If the reports are to be believed, Ismail Haniyeh was targeted in a largely unprotected house in Tehran. He was not burrowed underground—likely under a school, hospital, or mosque—with masses of civilians as human shields, as other Hamas leaders are and as he surely would have been if he were in Gaza. That's why whoever took him out was able to do so without apparent collateral damage and why it has been far more difficult to target Hamas leaders in Gaza without causing unfortunate civilian casualties.
