The daring operation to rescue four hostages in central Gaza was nearly canceled at the last minute. According to Israel's Channel 12, on Saturday morning, the head of operations at the Shin Bet reported that conditions were not optimal at one of the two locations in which the hostages were held. The operation depended on raiding both sites at once to prevent terrorists from executing hostages. There was a one-hour window to make a decision and ultimately the order was given at 10:55am to proceed.
