Not sure who needs to hear this - and it's going to come as a shocker - but just because a person got a directing award, it doesn't mean she knows a single thing about international law, the Middle East, Israelis, or Palestinians. Had Sarah said she stands in solidarity with Palestinians and Israelis - or called for the release of the hostages, her words would mean something. But since she only cares about Palestinian liberation, can someone please educate Sarah about Hamas's brutal rule over the Palestinian people and let her know that Hamas is holding 101 people - including 2 babies - hostage in Gaza.

During her speech she said that she stands in solidarity with the people of Palestine and says “I am accepting this award on the 336th day of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, and 76th year of occupation. It is our responsibility as filmmakers to use the institutional platforms in which we work to address Israel’s impunity on the global stage” #Venezia81
