Keep Romi Gonen in your thoughts today. Romi was shot before being taken captive to Gaza on Oct 7. For 16 months, her wounds went untreated, leaving her arm mostly paralyzed. Today, she is undergoing surgery in the hope of regaining function. She shared on Instagram: "A year and four months of longing for treatment, for the independence I missed so much. I'm afraid of the pain, the recovery, the unknown. But this time, I'm in the best hands, surrounded by the people I love, and I believe the best is yet to come. There are still hostages in Gaza dreaming of the freedom I've experienced this past month. They deserve the same chance. We must keep fighting until every hostage is home. Soon, I'll meet soldiers in the rehabilitation department—the brave souls who risked their lives to save me and others. I want to tell you: you are the strongest there is, and I can't wait to give you a big, tight hug."
