Former hostage Ohad Ben Ami met with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Ohad spoke about the horrors he endured in captivity: “We are in the 21st century and we were down there in the dungeon, with no light, no nothing, and no connection to the world. We didn't see anyone in these 491 days, and now it's 536 days, anyone from the Red Cross! It's an international organization and someone needs to see these 59 hostages that are still in Gaza and give the world what is their condition. Are they alive? Are they dead? Do they need medicine? Are they taken care of? …Germany is the strongest and biggest state in the European Union, so you have the power, and I'm asking you to help us bring all of them back home.”
