“Yesterday, I saw his face for the first time in almost a year. A video, released not out of compassion, but as part of Hamas' psychological warfare. And yet—there he was. Alive. Exhausted, starved, tortured, but alive.” The wife and father of hostage Omri Miran respond to the Hamas video released yesterday: “My name is Lishay Miran Lavi. I am the wife of Omri Miran, who has been held hostage by Hamas for more than 18 months. Yesterday, I saw his face for the first time in almost a year. A video, released not out of compassion, but as part of Hamas' psychological warfare. And yet—there he was. Alive. Exhausted, starved, tortured, but alive. Omri is the father of our two daughters, Roni and Alma. They haven't heard his voice since October 7. They haven't felt his arms around them or had the comfort of his presence in 566 days. How do I explain to them that the world keeps turning while their father remains trapped in the hands of terrorists? How can this be happening? How can the world allow this to continue? These are 59 beautiful human beings being held by Hamas, a terrorist organization, in Gaza. For over a year and a half. This is not just a political issue. It is a moral and humanitarian emergency to bring the living to rehabilitation and the fallen to honorable burial. I call on world leaders—but especially on President Trump, who has done so much in support of our plight: Please. Do whatever you can to advance a deal. You have already achieved what once seemed impossible. You brought 38 hostages home from Hamas captivity. Some returned to their families alive. Others came home in silence, to be buried with dignity. Now I ask you—complete the mission. Fulfill the promise. Bring all of them back. Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day. A day when we say "Never Again." But what does that promise mean if we allow Jewish families—like mine—to be torn apart and innocent people to remain in the hands of evil on earth for over 18 months? "Never Again" must be more than words. It must be action. As we approach Yom Ha'atzmaut—Israel's Independence Day—we must remember: our nation is not truly free while hostages remain behind enemy lines. True independence means no one is left behind. My daughters need their father. I need my husband. And our people need hope. Bring them home. All of them. Now.”
