Former hostage Keith Siegel: “I was held with Omri Miran — Lishay’s partner and the father of two little girls, Roni and Alma, who are waiting for their dad to come home. That disconnection from your family in captivity — not knowing if they’re okay, knowing they don’t know if you’re okay — it’s torture. I personally endured severe violence and was threatened with death several times. I had guns pointed at my head. I witnessed other hostages being tortured — beaten, threatened, humiliated. One female hostage was held at gunpoint in front of me, accused of something she didn’t do. They demanded that I get her to confess. Those images still haunt me. I came home in body — but parts of me are still in Gaza, with Omri, with Gali and Ziv, with Matan. Matan, a severely wounded IDF soldier, was locked in a dark room with me. He struggled to breathe. They only took him out of the tunnel to keep him alive — to trade him later. Matan fought to protect my kibbutz. Now we must fight for him. For all of them.”
