Popular revolts overthrowing governments was a real thing for ~150 years. It was possible because cheap muskets meant a half-trained mob could fight professional state armies and sometimes win. It ended when the machine gun gave the advantage back to professionals.

What is happening in England is interesting to me b/c it is a betrayal of the idea that you can stand up to an evil government. You actually can't. They will beat you bloody and imprison you and, honestly, that is enough to keep everyone else in line.
