By 13 votes to 2, the International Court of Justice issued an order calling on Israel to "immediately halt" its military operation in Rafah. To give you a sense of the court's utter lack of impartiality: ➡️ The president of the court is Lebanese Judge Nawaf Salam who has a well recorded history of making anti-Israel statements ➡️ In 2015 he wrote about Israel, “Unhappy birthday to you, 48 years of occupation.” ➡️ When he served as Lebanon’s ambassador to the UN, Salam routinely denounced Israel The ICJ charter’s conflict of interest rules state that no member of the court “may participate in the decision of any case in which he has previously taken part” as an “advocate” or in “any other capacity.”
