I appreciate the intention behind Jews that have been writing me asking me to vote for Donald Trump. I understand why you do not trust Kamala on Israel, though I strongly disagree. But, you have to understand. The Republicans have gone all in on transphobia as an election strategy. You feel frustrated at the ways the left has dehumanized you - can you not understand how much it hurts to see the right wing dehumanize me? I was on a date last night with my husband. I walked out of the bathroom, and there on the TV is a Trump ad promising to reduce my civil rights. I’m just trying to go about my day, and I’m fighting back tears in the middle of a movie theater. You would never vote for a party saying that about you, please don’t ask me to do this to myself. I would gladly die before detransitioning. A life where I cannot feel emotions and I’m disassociating all the time without HRT is not worth living. We don’t have to vote for the same party to fight against antisemitism together.
