If I were in charge of the Democratic Party, this is what I would do. I would hold a press conference and I would just tell the American people, we understand our party needs to change. And I would tell them the first step to doing that is we no longer want the fringe communists, the antisemites or the people celebrating murders of healthcare CEOs in our party. Go vote somewhere else. You’re not welcome here any further. I would also say we are committed to working with Republicans to fix our broken borders and immigration system. I would make it clear we stand for trans dignity, but that has to be balanced with women’s rights. I would make it clear that we would oppose any efforts to limit healthcare for adult adults, but no longer consider trans women in sports a fight we are participating in. Same thing with natal males not on a medical transition pathway asking to access women’s spaces. And I’d promise the American people we will stop getting involved with silliness and get back to the business of making working people’s lives better. That’s how I would fix our party.
