This @TheFP story is astonishing, even as a trans woman. If you have not had vaginoplasty, you have no business in a women's prison - period. If you put someone done with transition in a men's prison, we are obviously going to get raped and beaten in ways no horror movie would depict. Many of us get AIDS from the rape. This is cruel and obviously unconstitutional. But someone with a beard and a penis? This is the absurdity of this self-ID nonsense. Trans women are NOT AUTOMATICALLY WOMEN. You have to earn this. It takes growth and intention and luck. Someone that has convicted of sexual assault has so fundamentally failed this mission, it's hard for me to have compassion.
