Here’s what I really think about Trump’s executive order. There’s nothing more conservative than giving trans women a path to becoming integrated, normal members of society. If you insist that we are these freakish creatures that need to be misgendered at every turn and openly discriminated against - all you’re going to do is to turn us into drug addicted malcontents that will join radical causes and siphon public dollars while unemployed. If you give us a path to normalcy, we will become normal. I’ve been married for 17 years to a delightful man. I pay more in taxes every year than many people make. I create jobs, and I think I’m a credit to my community in Massachusetts. I don’t resent conservatives cracking down on the extremes of gender ideology. But you take it too far in the other direction. Trans women particularly benefit from purpose and structure. We need conservatives to help shape policy and give that to us.
