This is fair criticism. Which is why I deleted that. What Trump has done is too far, period. I tend to think about things in terms of incentives, not moral blame. Structurally, my assessment the core reason we are in this mess is the radical change of trans policy goals from integration to gender ideology. Is this the right week to hammer that point? Nope.
