I wish I had the words to make people care about trans people or even just have compassion. Imagine how desperate you'd have to be to become something so many people openly hate. I didn't ask to be born this way. I would not wish the trauma of a trans childhood on my worst enemy. My family disowned me for transitioning. Ever 20 years later, I feel like I've lost a limb - phantom pain that never goes away. But even through homelessness, constant abuse from strangers and even having my human rights dismantled by my own government in the last two weeks- I've never doubted I made the right choice.
