When you work in politics, you’re gonna have your heart broken. But I’ve never seen Democrats as depressed and directionless as right now. And I don’t mean the voters. I mean the people that actually work these elections. I mean elected officials. No one knows what to do. Everyone is angry. Someone told me yesterday they’re not even sure they identify as a democrat anymore. We are all waiting for someone to lead and we have no leader. A few people are repeating the 2016 resistance from muscle memory, but there’s no feeling or force behind it.
