“You sound like a right-winger.” I am a Democrat without the silliness of insisting trans women should be in women’s sports. I don’t believe worshiping identity makes things better for marginalized people and I think uncontrolled immigration is fueling right wing populism faster than dumping napalm on a forrest fire. I’m trying to make our party something that can win again by rejecting the nonsense that is making us lose. The core of being a Democrat is treating everyone with respect, and investing heavily in the public commons. That has never shifted and will never shift.
