OK, but why do trans people have mental disorders? Is it because we are inherently evil? No. In psychological terms, we are like a house built with a broken foundation, we don’t develop normally. Every step, the damage compound into the next one. So we reach adulthood deeply broken. It’s hard to develop a stable concept of self when you’re never allowed to express it. This is why this political sloganeering claiming there’s no such thing as a trans child is not just degrading, it’s dooming. By denying what happens to us, you don’t give us any policy path to get it addressed.
