Yelling at me for calling something a “illegal settlement” in the West Bank yesterday is fairly comical since that’s what the settler himself called his house and the Israeli government has literally given him a notice to destroy it. We interviewed plenty of people with homes in were in legal areas too. The entire reason I’m going and talking to these people is there is a storyline in America that goes something like this. “Everyone living in the West Bank stole their homes from a Palestinian at gunpoint.” That’s not true and I’m trying to show Americans the complexity of the situation. I think y’all really overestimate the amount of information Americans have about Israel.
