Why do I oppose creating a Palestinian state? Security. Give Hamas an airport, and it won’t be long before a 747 is hijacked and flown into Tel Aviv. Israel would be forced to respond with devastating force, and the horror of this war would look like a warm up. Without deradicalization and a credible government, a Palestinian state will escalate violence, not reduce it. I’m not against peace, and I’m not against Palestinian self-determination. But I am against delusional thinking.
