I care deeply about the Palestinian people, especially the children. I didn’t come into this conflict with hardened views. I’ve looked at it carefully and independently, and what’s clear to me is this - the only future where Palestinians live thriving, free lives requires letting go of the fantasy of destroying Israel. It means renouncing violence, not as a concession to Israel, but as an investment in their own future. Palestinian society has to make the choice to build itself instead of dedicating itself to Israel’s destruction. Israel didn’t choose October 7th. They didn’t choose the Arab League’s war in 1948. They didn’t choose the Second Intifada. These are mostly decent people who just want to live free of terror. My time in rehab taught me something brutal about human nature. I was in a group of 20 people. We all had the same resources to get better. Some of us did. Others blamed the world and stayed stuck. Multiple people from that group are dead today. My honest opinion? It’s their own fault. This horror can end, right now. But that choice belongs to the Palestinians, not Israel.
