I love those threads. Trump says “I like tariffs. The thing about tariffs is that I like them. On tariffs, I’m a yes.” And the response is a long, pretentious thread that begins, “Here’s why what Trump is really doing is hedging the Yen against the 1906 Antiquities Act. (1/34)”

Darkly amused by the emerging rationalization among some on this app that the tariffs are a move designed to push interest rates lower to aid the refinancing of our debt this year. That’s an argument that Trump is deliberately crashing the economy to lower interest rates.
