If Iran can do this to the US in the Gulf, you can bet that China can do this to the US in Japan, Guam, and Diego García, among other places. This should (but probably won't) be a wake-up call about the vulnerability of US bases to missile and drone attacks.

Also, more and more the US is admitting it might never rebuild its Middle Eastern bases. Military pulling out of the region would be a good thing for the US, but being forced to do so by Iran will make it a catastrophe. Also, Im sure China and Russia cannot believe their luck.
