Trump is confirming our @FT scoop last month. My understanding from senior Ukrainian officials today is that what Trump is referring to when he said “We spoke to Mr. Zelenskyy about it. There are plenty of other targets. Don’t hit diesel fuel, because that’s hurting, that’s hurting the world.” is the Trump admin had JD Vance strongly ask Zelenskyy on their call on July 31 to stop striking Russian energy facilities, citing rising global diesel prices.
