This is not noisy or hallucinated interpolation. The CTX photoclinometry model is actually recovering granular surface texture. This is a small graben on the west side of Orcus Patera, with a bunch of recurrent slope linnea. This map consists of just over 500 billion pixels. Even if I spent the rest of my life staring at these maps I would die before exhausting the surface of features and detail. The underlying dataset is closer to 4 trillion pixels.
