"Capitalism" is long dead - killed by managerialism when the managerial class gained class consciousness and realized they could take ownership of corporations without having formal ownership Managerialism got utterly wrecked by progressivism because they undermined the moral legitimacy of their own position Managerialists were predators of capitalists who thought they could undermine the moral order when it favored them but then didn't do the second order thinking of what would protect them from people who undermined them in turn "Communism" and "democracy" are basically the same thing. As Hans Hermann-Hoppe put it: "Democracy has nothing to do with freedom. Democracy is a soft variant of communism, and rarely in the history of ideas has it been taken for anything else." The observable difference in results stems from the reality that "communism" as a system is basically "democracy" but when commun*ists* win they overturn all the old rules, impose a new moral order for dispute resolution and "rewrite the public ledger" on property ownership. Every one of these things strips away the safeguards that keep conflicts between men from being all or nothing struggles to the death and the results are inevitable Once that initial spasm of violence is ended, communism and democracy both head towards the same equilibrium solutions to political economy Markets (of course) still exist in all of states because markets are simply part of human nature in that no human being is equipped to survive in the natural world without other men hence trade is necessary and men are self-interested so trade has to have *prices* and prices have to be set by the best alternative for the buyer and seller Anyone saying "that's not true communism" because there are still markets is a fool or a liar but probably both Oh, and "capitalism" is permanently dead as long as trade is denominated in a currency that can be created at will by people who can influence the state - fiat currency

Capitalism and communism are the same thing. They are both variants of 19C English liberal economics. No surprise that Elon keeps overflowing his buffer and wrapping back around. As Carlyle explained, the rise of technology only accentuates the errors of liberalism
