We’ve seen Trump use this kind of negotiating play before. He throws out something big, forces all the players to show their cards, and suddenly, what seemed impossible starts to take shape. Whether this was ever a serious proposal to transform Gaza into a U.S.-led economic hub and vacation destination or a calculated move to pressure regional powers into action, the result speaks for itself—Egypt and Jordan are now stepping up to rebuild Gaza.  Obviously, the situation is complex, and plenty could still go wrong. But for now, it’s clear that Trump’s strategy is forcing movement where there was once only deadlock. If this momentum continues, it may actually work.
