People. Trump’s lust for Greenland is not a troll. He will absolutely move on it unless he is stopped or costs are too high. Congressional action, clear public opposition, prospect of military resignations, threat of European sanctions are all relevant. If Europe shrinks from the fight to preserve NATO, it will lose the fight and lose NATO. A predatory America strips the alliance of any meaning, and tells us the United States would never come to their defense anyway. Any American citizen or Member of Congress who values NATO needs to communicate clearly to Trump: hands off Greenland.
