“East Jerusalem” is a fiction. It never existed. It is a quirk of history that the city was indeed divided, between Israel and Jordan, for just 19 years—after so many centuries of unity, and before another 57 years of unity. Even then, it wasn’t called East Jerusalem. Both countries called their part of the city simply “Jerusalem.” It’s just another part of the scam. It’s time to shed the scams and move forward.

Germany has just come out saying "East Jerusalem belongs to the Palestinians". Why? Because it was illegally occupied by Jordan in 1948? On what possible grounds does Germany think the Western Wall "belongs" to the Palestinians? Israel has by far the superior legal claim.
