A generation has grown up having absolutely no capacity of suspending judgment. They are experts in nothing and therefore have no tools for knowing when they don’t know enough to even have an opinion. It’s only when you master a field—any field—that you understand how little you know about others. And so they can’t tell the difference between valid and ignorant opinions they hear. It just matters how entertaining it is. That’s it.
