I’m not a hardline conservative or liberal. I don’t listen to @benshapiro and I am not a subscriber to @dailywireplus. Honestly I don’t care much for politics in general. And yet I found @RepSwalwell questioning Ben Shapiro about his personal views of whether homosexuality is a sin to be deeply disturbing and un-American. Congress should not be interrogating people about their religious beliefs—even ones they may find abhorrent. It is literally the foundation upon which this country stands. Ask questions about policy, discrimination, and law. But no one in the United States should be asked what they do and do not consider a sin. Christians likely feel that it is a sin that I have not accepted Jesus as my savior and they are 100% entitled to think or feel that in this country. I think it’s a sin if I eat pork. 🤷🏻♂️ The government should not ever be interrogating citizen’s about their religious beliefs—what they consider a sin. Kind of jaw dropping to me that this has become normal. It should not be normal and it is not the values upon which this great nation was founded.
